Alright, so as you can tell, I am new to this forum, and am learning Famitracker. I have made a couple of songs with it already, but I don't think they sound too good. I have just finished one that I like in some way.
You will notice a distinctive, yet, somewhat bad Motoi Sakuraba feel to it [color=gray](as I happen to be a fan of his music.) It needs a bit of work, though. I am aware that I didn't use certain effects that may help make it sound better [color=gray](like there are strings of volume numbers at certain points as I tried to simulate a fade out effect, but it doesn't work to well on the VRC7 channels.)
Not bad, not bad at all. I do, however think that you need more of a space between your notes for echo. Also. Your melody seems a bit random at times. As for the fade effect you mentioned, yeah, there's a lot more that doesn't work well with the VRC7 channel.
Some other places I've tried to conquer:

Instead of using single notes you should be using chords.
In frame 01's ending, are the 2a03 pulses and VRC7 melody in different keys?
This is a good start to a song, and I love me some fast paced boss music, but it feels empty without chords backing it. Definitely keep practicing and improving!
Decent start, but that melody is pretty random, and as the person above me said, you need more chords in there. Those squares during the first two frames could be accented or replaced by VRC7 instruments (you have four FM channels' worth of room during that part after all). Also, as the DPCM drums are barely audible, you could think about adding noise to them in order to make them stand out more.
And yes, the melody does seem random and all over the place. This IS one of my first times attempting to compose music, so bear with me, but you know what they say; practice makes perfect.

Don't sweat it, you get better with time as long as you're always on the lookout for new things other music writers do you didn't think about.
To make your melodies seem less random, you can try humming/doodling it on piano first, you can try forcing a power-of-2 structure on it (loops with variation every four measures, for example), force it to be one key at a time except when you modulate, etc

I think I'll cover songs for a while as practice before attempting any more originals. I just started working on an MMC5 cover of Take Up the Cross [color=gray](Tales of Phantasia's battle theme.)

Bluh, double post! Because I edited the song a bit to make it sound slightly better. It still needs further adjustments [color=gray](like maybe use different DPCM samples, and adding noise to go along with them,) though, but feel free to do them yourself if you want.
getting better, to make the dpcm drums stand out more, use the volume column to lower the volume on the FM channels. same thing for the base pulse instruments. granted the song will be more quiet, but the drums will stand out with the volume on your speakers / pc turned up.
