Hmm... I'll email you the latest one, if you want.

Good, but I still confess to missing the first instantiation of the klaxon <.<

I don't quite like this klaxon as much, yeah, but I'm working on a shorter one I like.

Mr_Master wrote:
I personally think the problem with the new klaxon is that it goes up instead of down.

Possibly, possibly. I have not eventhought to try to make it bend up. Although, In most cliche klaxons I've heard It bends up and fades out. I dunno, I'll try it after I'm done writing this post.

AFTERTHOUGHT: Maybe it'd sound good if you have both the oldest and newest klaxons going at the same time? XD

Although that sounds ridiculous, I'm going to try it. Anything to get a better klaxon.

Plus, you'd better get to think of a shorter name for your attachments since it's annoying to read these things by moving the scroll bar.

Yeah, my next one will be "red_alert_name_shortened"

Also, I hereby admit to mixing up klaxons and air-raid sirens. *hangs head in shame!*

Air-raid sirens, that's the term I was looking for.

EDIT:

Nope

RE-EDIT:New version, just some minor chagnes in the chords and melody. Still working on a good klaxon.

Okay. I want to see the progress you have made through the hours of development of a good klaxon.

I have to add that the previous klaxon(the first one) was always fitting the melody and chords.

I'll now listen to this new version to see what's up. I hope it's better.

And congratulations on finding a shorter name for it.

Nice, but is it the same as in the previous attachment?

Oh, and the klaxon fits a bit better. The wave bugs me a little since it doesn't fit the "alert" theme too much. But it's a WIP, isn't it? A sawtooth is more recommendable but seeing you already tried that, I don't think this is worth much.

And Patashu was right. It sounds better if it lasts twice as it did before.

This is going better in my opinion. Nice work so far.

EDIT: I liked the Harpsichord better than instrument 06 in the last four frames.

WAIT, DOUBLE EDIT!:

You are right in that. Others go up and down alternately, but few of them go down(I think!). All of them have their own distinctive style that fits a different situation. A fire alarm might go down(I don't know, I have never heard one), a security alarm might bend up and down and some other kinds might go up, as the one I sent. I was thinking of EMERGENCY! when I made it.

WHY SO MANY EDITS! WHYYYYY!?: I just noticed I didn't change the wave positions in my alarm, thus making all the channels play a saw wave.

OKAY THIS IS THE LAST EDIT, I PROMISE!: Nice song, by the way. I was thinking what I would made out of an alarm, but got nothing feasible.

I am wondering how many musical abilities do I have to make an original song which some people like, including me, and not hating it after a couple days...

I took the liberty of changing the filenames of the attachements on the previous page, and also removed the useless poll in the original post. Don't let me catch you doing stupid things like this again.

That was like whoa to me, but I thank you(although I don't own this thread), since the previous page was annoying to read because of the long filenames.

EDIT: Now I can download the file at the bottom of the previous page, so thanks again.

Ok, thanks. And I'll try and filter the stupidity in my voice from the forums.

Man. Threads where progression happens like this are the best.
I'm going to throw in my two cents and say I think the alarm would be better used more sparingly. Space them apart, instead of having two per frame, maybe two per every four frames or something.

Those last four frames are much better with the not-the-klaxon-again bits.

You DO realize that the total melody is 8 frames, 4 being chords instead of klaxons. That would be awful.

EDIT just realized you basically said every other frame. That would be VERY un-klaxonish still.

I should have worded that more clearly, sorry.

Admittedly I had to google what a klaxon was before listening to the FTMs. I get that it's an alarm but after a while alarms can get pretty annoying. That's sort of their purpose. The Rushjet1 tune Patashu mentioned has an alarm/klaxon-y thing but it's only for a couple frames. I guess I'm just suggesting that the more it's used the more it's novelty wears off.

I think if you went from a klaxon-warning thing to a stuff-is-going-down sort of thing it'd be cool.

EDIT: Oh shoot, I definitely meant to say that this reminds me of that newgrounds flash thing from the early 2000's. I just found it after some googling, and the klaxons reminded me of the little flying dude.

All your sentences respectively;

Yes, it is an alarm, and like you said, alarms are purposely annoying. I put the chords there to kind of fix that problem.

As for a "stuff is going down" sort of thing, that is kind of a klaxon in and of itself. On the newgrounds link; I'm only 13, and have filtered internet. It is blocked. Thanks for the comment, though I am afraid that production has halted.
