One question: Does the volume of the DPCM sample decide how loud the triangle channel and noise channel are supposed to be when the DPCM channel is in use?
If that should be the case, then I would like to add a wish to the request list (able to change volume of DCM files)
You can change DPCM volume only on coversion stage. You can't do it after conversion, because DPCM stores only delta, i.e. 1-bit difference between samples.
Yes, volume of the DPCM channel affects to volume of the triangle and noise channel. Maximum volume on these channels is set when DPCM channel is not used, and when DPCM is playing, volume of these channels will be lower. To make overall volume of these channels louder, you must use very short DPCM samples.
That was not what I was asking for. My question is if the volume of the samples decide how quieter the triangle/noise channels become. Or is it a fixed value?
It's not fixed, higher DPCM output value means lower triangle/noise output value. You can control DPCM output directly, without using the samples, through Zxx effect. It's a way to get some control on triangle volume, but it has limited range.
FamiTracker and the PowerPak? Do they play nice?Posted: 2009-07-08 15:00
