Hello and welcome to the thread of the first song i'm posting here :D

It's a song about a boring guy with a boring job on a boring day who jumps in his little space ship and stars fighting aliens.
I made it as background music for a bullet hell type game i'm making so that is why it doesn't really end

I have been using famitracker a year now and never really looked at a good tut. everything i learned was either discovered by random trying or from someone else his song so feel free to say "HEY you should do it like this"

And ofc feedback is always apreciated.

I hope you will enjoy it :D

Nice, although some things bug me as well, like the volume control, the distorted sawtooth at the end, and perhaps some other little things, but overall is okay. It's a great coincidence that I was thinking about making a space-like song, but I'm leaving that for another time.

This song would be improved greatly with a noise snare (for example, 2-8-9... or 1-6-C...) and with a kick (either DPCM or 50% duty cycle square wave downward sweep or triangle downward sweep). The melodies are nice but the really really boring percussion lets it down as a whole. If you need inspiration for what you can do with percussion, I always use really really crazy noise channel stuff and I upload ftms and nsfs of all my songs ([url=http://soundcloud.com/patashu]http://soundcloud.com/patashu) so you can take a peek.

As composition is a process of producing the best music you can with the tools you are aware of, I look forward to seeing what you come up with

I intentionally let the kick out because i thought it would get to distracting while playing.

But it's true i completely disregarded percussion thanks for pointing that out. i'l check out your stuff and see if i can come up with something cool :D

What do you mean by volume control?

Volume control: What we usually mean by volume control is that you have to balance all channels in a way so no one of them will sound too loud or over other channels.

Usually, having all channels at the same volume is bad volume control, for example volume F, and when you use DPCM or triangle or both, this will be an even greater challenge.

Good volume control can be achieved by balancing all the channels, so no one sounds over another, although you can intentionally unbalance some little things like a powerful lead or an amazing bassline to make them stand over the other elements of the song.

I hope this helped you. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me or anyone else.
