Just tried to open up the help file for version 0.4.2, and, upon opening up, is a help file with categories full of nothing. Just blank space. No matter what I click on, nothing will show up.

I thought this might be a Windows 8 issue, so I tried opening up earlier help files from past versions of Famitracker. They opened up properly, no problems.

Aside from this problem, can anyone explain what the Volume and Instrument mask options do? This was why I wanted to read the help file, to find out.

Hmm, try right clicking on the CHM, go to properties, and click "Unblock" if it is there. Some browers/zip programs will flag executable files you download from the internet as blocked until you unblock them.

Ha ha ha, why didn't I chose that option? Thanks, that allowed the help file to show up.

This topic can now be locked.

Instrument & volume masks just insert the previously used instrument/volume value each time a new note is entered. Typically, instrument mask is enabled, while volume mask is disabled. Volume mask is useful when you're using Axy volume slides, though.

OK, I got it now. A feature so subtle that is actually one huge time saver.
