Happens to all of us. In fact, I haven't been back here for a while, after my Project Capcom... project, so I've missed quite a bit.
To escape writer's block, try listening to other composers that you may have skipped over, to help give you some inspiration. There are actually some good ones here, even.
BTW, nice work with the song. Where's the original?

Nope. You were the one who did that Star Fox cover, right? That shows you have the capability. Another thing I would try, is going for a different style of music.
For example, if you were the composer of a Tetris game, try to think of what classical pieces you might add. See how to translate them to Famitracker. Or, see how far you can go out of the ordinary.
This is just an example, once again.

Yeah... I think I'll have to figure out some classical piece that would fit well with that general theme & mix it in. Either that, or figure out how to make a more proper medley of my previous songs.
Thanks, though.

I have tried this. Still nothing. Maybe I'm just a bad composer?
Nah you just listen to my stuff ))
But seriously, you're not bad, it just takes a solid idea! :D
And what's a writer's block?
It's when you can't write anything decent, so you don't write anything at all.
Anyway I've looped this several times and I like it. It's got a good classical vibe and it's not harsh, this would be a good interlude in a larger piece! :D

Yeah that was me.

I have thought about doing that sometime. I might do it soon.

How the hell did I miss that?
Check the attachments for my three major projects (& I'm in a period of transition between web hosts, unfortunately). You'll see it's a frequently-recurring theme in all of these files.
My 3rd OST is the incomplete one; the one which I'm trying to make this song fit into.
I don't think this is bad. In fact, it's wonderful! I like its smooth sound a lot.
Thanks; if there's one thing I always strive for in my music, its smooth flow & manipulating the listener's mood. But lately (Since 2011, actually,) I've had this problem of figuring out how to add more syncopation to my music; it seems that my songs are shorter & more repetitive than they used to be. Which goes back to this:
Anyway I've looped this several times and I like it. It's got a good classical vibe and it's not harsh, this would be a good interlude in a larger piece! :D
I intend to make it an interlude to something a bit bigger, but I'm stuck as to how to achieve this properly. And considering that there are a number of songs that can be mixed into this (since they're in the same key,) it's not just hard to decide which songs to mix with this, but how to mix them smoothly & maintain continuity.

Honestly, it depends on what mood setting you want to convey. Trust me; many composers use different techniques to convey different themes (like Tchaikovsky; some of his songs convey cheerful moods like in The Nutcracker, while others convey darker moods like in Swan Lake or The Sleeping Beauty).
God, did I just sound like a corny old fruit cake.

Good sir, I do believe around a year and a half ago, this helped give you a bit of inspiration. So I present it to you once again. You have full permission to do with it as you will, or nothing at all, if you so choose.
Thanks again, man. I still have this file on my drive, actually. I'll work this into my 3rd OST as an MMC5 track somehow (I really need to replace the incomplete Elfen Lied cover I made).
Mind you, I'm also trying to replace my dungeon theme for my 3rd OST (the one I currently have was just me fiddling around). But if I can merge what I have in my first post with the dungeon theme of my 2nd OST, then I might be getting somewhere...
Check out the attachments; transposed by one tone. Then listen to my 2nd OST's track 8. Do you think it's possible to mix the two themes together?
