Hello everyone. It's been a long time since I've posted anything here. Well I'm working on a little video game project where I decided the music would be derivative of a favorite suite by J. S. Bach. In the process for making the music I made a 8-bit arrangement of the rondeau from the suite.

The ftm is in the attachments.

I think it turned out alright but I'm looking for feedback how I can make it better. I'm not nearly as familiar with Famitracker as I'd like to be so any help would be appreciated!
For this piece I decided not to use any of the expanded modules, so I had to condense a lot of the original arrangement into the 2 square tracks and the triangle track. This unfortunately meant that I couldn't really do much with the dynamics so instead opted to change the duty of the square tracks when it seemed fit.

Hope you all like it!

The instruments sound a lot like Dragon Warrior 3, even though I can tell they're quite different.

I find it a little strange that what sounds like the start of a measure is 8 rows behind where I'd expect to see it.

That's baroque music for you. The anacrusis is very important if you were to have musicians play it, but loses it's function a bit here.

those pickups could do with a bit of marking out~ as dwedit says, it kind of sounds like the beat starts as soon as the piece does rather than the eight rows after

some dynamic scaping of those two pulses would go very well, or something else to otherwise push out the first beat that you want (some unique ornamentation in the triangle perhaps? or pulses, a quick arp command or duty change would be rather nice, i've thrown down some disconnected ideas in the ftm attached if you want to take any away

stuff like vibrato, portamento, and even duty changes (and dynamics) would go really well melodically to really shape the music you're transcribing too~ bach is not just notes! give a bit of soul too

You're very much right about that. I did use some duty changes, but completely avoided dynamics mainly because you can't place them on the triangle. It ruins the balance with the triangle being so much louder than the pulse channels.

When I get the time I think I'll use an expanded module and give the piece the extra color it demands.

The piece was very much made to relearn the program.

There's the trick where you change the DMC wave with Zxx to change the volume of the triangle channel, but you get a little pop every time the volume changes.
