There's now a WIP (Work in progess) available of the upcoming version.
Not everything is done yet, but most of it should work.

(See readme.txt for news)

It seems I'll have to break my promise on expansion sound in the next version, but there was a lot of bugs that should have been fixed already. Hope you're all ok with that.

Anyway, you're welcome to leave comments on this.

Wooohoo, lot's of new stuff! Great something to explore today! The instrument editor is totally awsome. Great idéa with presets! And lovely that you can save instruments!

One thing that I miss from earlier versions is: Shift + Left arrow = jump to the beginning of the next frame and Shift + Right arrow = jump to the beginning of the previous frame.

Ooohh. Back to exploring!

Hey rubbish!

I forgot to write it down, but Shift + left/right is replaced with ctrl + left/right. Shift + left/right is now for selecting.

I hope we get the ability to merge separate ftms... you'd need these features (I may have forgotten some):

Appending any extra songs to the merged output

Comparing instruments' data (not including names and other things that may change in the merging) and merging all the matching instruments and vol/arp/pitch/hi/duty settings, while just appending the different ones.

Reassigning instruments' effects based on what numbers any merged or appended effects were assigned.

Reassinging instruments based on the new numbers given by the merging.

I say this, because I have a big series of related FTMs. ;>.>

Oh, that was me. Not like it matters. Your forum really needs auto login.

I am having a few difficulties with the WIP, and I hope this won't be too much questions etc, but if anyone would like to help, that would be super nice:

1) creating an nsf using the WIP seems to create a buggy nsf with the DPCM channel, and with the Dxx command(see link below).

2) I have delt with that lately by opening the FTM file with an earlier version of FT and then making an nsf (which works fine), but now it seems that when I have composed a FTM with the WIP, it won't open in earlier versions of FT (''couldn't load file properly'' message).

3) Finally, the ''Dxx - Skip to next frame and start at row xx'' command doesn't start at the desired row, I would like it to skip to row 012, but it skips to 016 (in frame 00).

I hope this is not too much, and for praticality, here is the project I am working on, thanks a lot

lol I was about to report that bug about Dxx and the DPCM!

[url=http://2a03.free.fr/dl.php?file=62]http://2a03.free.fr/dl.php?file=62 is a FTM file that shows the bugs in all its power, it seems that when coming to write an NSF, it won't write correctly the starting adress of the sample, and that channel often play shit.
The first tune is what happen with instruction only in the DPCM channel, and the second one with instructions in Triangle and Noise. Very wierd.
[url=http://2a03.free.fr/dl.php?file=61]http://2a03.free.fr/dl.php?file=61 is another proof to the DPCM bug : that file was created in Famitracker 0.2.5 and sound normally when exported from that version, but in the current BETA it plays shit , like I described above. Please make sure too that Famitracker will work right when coming to import an instrument with DPCM samples within it.

Now it's turn to good comments: the Zxx command is very useful and work great even while playing a sample! Very useful when using loud samples or when using a repetitive bass sample to prevent too higher DAC values...

lpower: Hey, your kick and snare snare samples sound like Konami stuff, like in Contra, huh? :P

DPCM bug is fixed and I'll fix the Dxx bug, so it should be ok for the next public release.

I had to drop file backward compability because of the multisong thing, but backups are created when older files are opened so you can use those if you have to.

Thanks for reporting!!

The new version is now out, and the WIP is KILLED!

Btw the text file vanished when I updated the WIP before.
