After 9 months of work (random laziness / sidetracking!) I've finally released the Mega Man 3 cover playthrough. You can see it here:

This is a video of me playing through Mega Man 3 with all the music remixed using the VRC6 expansion in stereo. Headphones are recommended as the stereo was programmed with headphones in mind. Enjoy!

I also released this on Bandcamp (linked in youtube description as well): [url=http://rushjet1.bandcamp.com/album/mega-man-3-remade]http://rushjet1.bandcamp.com/album/mega-man-3-remade

so far, I've watched 10 minutes of the video and I have to say that I'm impressed. The songs that I like so far are Game Start, Boss Battle and Hard Man.

It's actually quite funny that you did these covers because I'm also working on with some VRC6 covers of Mega Man 3 & 8.

But seriously, very nice covers!

Edit: OK, watched the whole thing now and I have to say that your covers are brilliant!

Listened to the entire thing. Loved all the different variations of the boss themes and how you snuck in Wily's Underwater Base as well. Also a great run of the game, makes me want to play it again.

It was a hack to remove the music from the game. RJ1 played the game with sfx only, and later added his remies.

I now want an enhanced Megaman 3, done Rockman 4MI style, with this music in it. I don't care how it is done, I just want it.

I can see a way to do it easily if
1) you play on an emulator with LUA plugins
2) said LUA plugins can play mp3 files

Is there more than [url=http://www.fceux.com]one NES emulator with lua scripting?

I dunno about playing MP3s directly in LUA, but if you have access to the os module, you could probably os.execute something to play your mp3 files.

Very enjoyable RJ1-esque remixes.
Your Mega Man 3 chops are impressive...I bet you could do a speedrun.

The soundtrack here...
You have each and every song in the game redone in an amazing way.
You had songs from other games in here with a new variation of them.
You even had more than one version of some songs like Shadow Man, Needle Man, Gemini Man, the BOSS BATTLE (Seriously, 8 different versions? AWESOME!), and the Wily Castle 2, which is my favorite theme of the original OST.

You, sir, need to link us to .nsf, .wav, and .ftm files! These are too good to pass up <3

Since this was played back in NotsoFatso the vrc6 is much louder than it should be in FT - I'll go through and reduce volumes at some point and release the ftm/nsf.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Glad you picked MM3 of all games!
