I've done all I can with the noise channel in terms of drums, and want to expand into the DPCM column, but am unsure how. How am I supposed to use it, and do I need premade sounds? Thanks.

I am pretty sure this is never true. For example, have you tried arpeggios on the noise channel? Intermixed V01 and V00 parts? Bleeding a long running noise underneath shorter sharper drums?

There's a zillion ways to make snares, a zillion ways to make bass and several dozen ways to make hats. And then there's toms, thooms, booms, bangs, crashes, random stuff like wind and water and rain and roars and lightning and earthquakes...
I am guilty of using the same snare and similar open/closed hi-hats every time I open famitracker, but I like to mess around with toms, snare transposition, buzzes and short buzzes/blips/fadeouts on V01 and heavily arpeggiated fills/rolls. Anyway, never think you've bled noise dry. (One thing that's especially fun is clustered arps, like 012, 010 and 0FF on V01 noise - since the buzzing doubles and halves with every level, you'll get it flicking and clicking all over the place at high frequencies thereof.)
