This is a place to dump .ftm's and .nsf's of chips converted from one that can't play on certain (mobile) players into a chip that does play.

MMC5 => VRC6
5B => N163
possibly
FDS => N163

Shit outta luck for VRC7 still though

Anyway, here are few of my fave MMC5s converted.

If doing it yourself:
Shift Scroll is your friend for changing instruments.
MMC5 => VRC6
V00 => V01
V01 => V03
V02 => V07
V03 => V03

Though, if there's a chunky quick V01 to V03 or vice versa, I just use V05 to V03

Oh, and Requests open.

GO!

Not exactly what you're asking for, but I thought these might be interesting.

A while back I converted some Atari ST music to 5B to test it (since they're the same chip, just at a different clock rate). These are rough, but they were an interesting proof of concept. Note that for toki6.nsf the difference in clock speed is too much for the envelope bass to function correctly and sounds terrible. Also puzznic.nsf does not manage to get the whole song in; I cut it to fit without bankswitching.

Play using NSFPlay.

What's your process for converting AY to 5B? I imagine tricky Env work would be hell for any conversion.

Like, how would you convert this ChC lead on pattern 06

I hacked a YM player to dump out all the register writes, changing all the frequency register values to ones appropriate for the 5B clock. I feed that into a simple NSF program that just plays back those register writes.

I don't know how to play an .stc file.

It opens in VortexTrackerII.

Here's the .ay

gyms, saying dogtown is among classics is redundant. It is classic.

This .ay is 0kb... anyhow, now that I know it's for VT2 I realize I can open it. (I have VT2 but only used it once.)

Anyhow, yeah, the beginning wouldn't convert well at all, there's not much frequency resolution available for the high range of the envelope generator on 5B.

Few more and also started doing DC3.

Probably gonna tackle Pachelbel's Pirate Ship and see how an FDS 2 N163 conversion goes.

I'm moving this to FamiTracker Talk, since this isn't really your music that you're sharing. Do keep posting more though.
