I think it's preferrable to ask for permission before you modify someone else's work, especially a new member.
Why? You'd ask permission, of course, before posting it elsewhere, attempting to sell it for money, putting it in a game, etc - but what's the harm in posting it here where it's obvious what it's a modification of and who's work it originally is?
(As a corollary, would you still have to ask permission if you edited it and then did not release it anywhere?)

So, Karthon, this is good. You say you are only 10, so that's quite impressive, and nice to see someone from a later generation interested in NES stuff.
Thanks, I'm a bit of a gaming and tech nerd (and a huge studying one!) and I just love tech stuff. And even more, 8-bit stuff!! I love Famitracker since I also like music, and I'm a pro video game pianist so it's not very hard to put the notes in the channels/tracks.
