Hi everyone,

In recent weeks there have been many instances of new and old (especially new) members opening threads just to share random 10-second loops that - by their own admission - they didn't really put much time and effort into. These topics tend to take up lots of space and, unfortunately, push more serious stuff down the list of topics.

Then, Dan had an idea:
how about a sticky for everyone (new and old) to post their random doodles and whatnot for everyone to hear, regardless of the amount of effort/time put into them?
Sounds like a plan. So let's hear what random bits of chiptune you guys have to share.

I will be doing semi-regular housekeeping in this thread.

Most games use the noise channel for sfx, I wonder what would happen if a composer only used the noise channel therefore allowing wonderous sfx using both square and tri

I expected actual sound effects in the ftm. :p

Seems a bit plain, but perhaps a minimal amount of V01 square could do the trick.

Anyway, have a loop I can't write a melody for.

Good, I was actually planning on posting a thread like this sometime.

Alright, spam time.

Folders with COVER in the title are covers. Other than that, everything else should be original maybe excluding a few I've forgotten about.

The first one is Simian Segue, heavily butchered. (Not really, I just put in something random to go along with the drums I was testing out).

I don't know what the hell the second one sounds like... but it reminds me of something... maybe something LOZ? Maybe an NES game?

The note progression sounds familiar; is this based on something?

Also, five-minute melody added.

Probably something buried deep in my subconsious that I can't remember, but mind if I use your edit? Because that's a niiiccccce edit you did, and it'd be a shame if someone else took it.

Here's a short original loop I worked on. I couldn't think of anything to come after 07, so it remains unfinished.

That's probably the craziest misuse of instruments I've seen in a while.
