Here I have a remix of Casino Night Zone from Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (the single player version specifically). The main melodies I put a spin on in terms of rhythm, but the note choice is pretty much the same. It's looping at the moment, but maybe if I decide to do anything else with it I'll probably end up putting in some solos or writing my own melodies in (maybe if I'm not feeling so lazy).

Also the trisnare and trikick is from Interrobang Pie's "Pipsqueaks Thunder Plunder", so all credit to him on those.

Nit-pick this to hell and back please!

It just goes to show how unappreciated Sonic music is!!

(That's actually a joke but whatever)

How long have you been using FamiTracker? This is awesome! Only complaint? The overall chords seem off sometimes, though looking at the notes, they seem good to me. I dunno what's wrong.

This is very Pie-like... especially the beginning.

I think I started in July?? I took a look at some of my projects saved and the earliest I can find is July, so I guess that's it. Thanks!

I agree that some of the chords do sound off, especially on the 2nd VRC6 channel. I think that's where it's coming from too, I might have to mess with the pulse width or something. Unless I did something wrong with the chord inversions, but I think those would stick out in the first channel too. I tried to keep the movement rather short (which I always try to do, I can't explain why), so they do look correct! I suppose trust your ears over your eyes, ha.

I sure hope that's not a bad thing! I take a lot of influence from him, especially in the phrasing of the leads (vibrato and lots of note slides in) and the crazy arps.

You certainly have a lot of InterroBangPie influences in style. But he's very hard to beat. Keep tracking man, cuz you've got great potential. As for this cover/remix, I like it a lot, and as Flashing Yoshi pointed out, I feel like a few chords are wrong too, But I can't find where either. Kinda mind boggling.

Yeah, it's super weird! It's especially noticeable on the second VRC6 channel in frame 05 with the G#. Anyone have any clues as to why?? It's probably just poor not choice on my part.

Since it's a cover, why not open the .vgm for Casino Night Zone and double check the chords?

the only contextually out of place chord i hear is in frame 05. it should be Ab major instead of minor (B notes should be C)

Perfect! It was poor choice on my part haha. I have to pay more close attention to what I'm doing with the arpeggios. Thanks!

no prob. if you ever get stuck trying to figure out chords when you already have a melody, keep in mind that the melody notes themselves will usually outline or hint at the chord they 'belong' to. especially in tunes where straight major and minor chords are found.
