So multi-chip NSFs will no longer just be a dream. If this isn't incentive to allow multi-chip NSF and PAL+expansion NSF then I don't know a damned thing.

I'm no expert, but given the parts used I wouldn't be surprised to see it priced around $150. I also wouldn't be surprised if it became available maybe by the end of this year/early 2013 if you take the pace of krikzz's other previous retro flash cart projects into account.
Don't take my word for it though, I'm just someone who has been observing tendencies and by no means at all do I actually know anything even remotely official.

Not sure if...
EDIT: and multi-chips already work...

You misunderstand. With PowerPak practically VRC7 fills up the entire FPGA. The Cyclone 2 will be able to fit them all.
I'm talking strictly about how much logic can fit inside the FPGA. There may be conflicts involved but the NSF Verilog mapper and NES player code may be able to map the FDS audio registers elsewhere and allow all known sound chips.
Regarding VRC7, I remember having conversations with kevtris, bunnyboy and loopy when it was being developed; being almost 8 years ago. They said that it would take up almost the entire FPGA if implemented.
If I'm not mistaken the FPGA should be able to reconfigure itself depending on the game being played, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue anyways so long as it has the resources necessary to emulate the VRC7 in hardware.
