So I had this little conversation about N163 phase resetting, and I was thinking if this could be used for all expansions (where phase reset is possible at all) for any reason a person would want to reset the phase. (Also not sure if VRC7 LFO can be reset)

I don't think the VRC7 LFO can be reset.

Resettable: 2A03 squares, MMC5 squares, N163, FDS modulator.

Not resettable: VRC6, 5B, VRC7 LFO.

VRC7 resets modulator/carrier phase at the beginning of every note.

Unsure if the FDS carrier phase can be reset.

Hxy and Ixy is used for hardware sweeps and not specifically phase resets, so I'd vote for either a new effect or an instrument option. Hxx would work for N163 but it is used for channel specific effects on other channels so I'd rather choose a new effect.

FDS carrier phase is also not resettable in any way to my knowledge, but this needs to be verified.

Also resetting phase in N163 would only work in Nezplug++ at the moment.
