Is it possible to reset the N163 phase somehow? It would be useful for PWM done with a P81 saw + inverted saw technique because the phase doesn't reset on a new note, even if I switch to an empty wave for 1 frame.

It is possible to reset the phase actually, but there is no control for it in the tracker at the moment. This also requires the accurate emulation that most NSF players don't support.

Actually accidentally stopping a N163 song at the right moment, I was thinking if phase reset on new notes would somewhat deal with the popping nature for the N163 when there are sudden volume changes.

No clue what all this means, but for some reason, N163 saw + inv. saw would not cancel out, but make some sort of VRC6 6.25% Squareish sound...

saw + inverted saw -should- cancel to make some sort of square wave (anywhere from 0 to 100% duty).

Also, I don't think phase reset on new notes is a good default. It inserts a pop at the start of the note where there need not be one. If you want it, you should have to request it. Since H00 and I00 do this on the 2A03, you could reuse them for this effect on N163.
