With the advent of the new WAV export function, I went back and tried out something I've always wanted to do and mastered one of my chiptunes externally from famitracker. I exported each channel as its own file and mixed them in a DAW. It's not straight authentic NES sound any more, but it sounds so much better now, while still retaining all the characteristics of the lo-fi 8-bit sound I love.

Cool effects, Reverb on the Triangle channel is awesome!

But somehow, the musical style is to abstract for me. The drums go their own way, and sometimes seems like they are being randomly inserted...

But after listening to the song a couple of minutes it all starts to make sense. Cool stuff.

not only the drums sound randomly inserted

but I guess this is how the song is supposed to be.

It's maybe a bit too random for my personal taste. As for the mixing, it sounds ok and still very Famicom-ish.

It's very strange and cool. My first impression was it sounds sort of humorous, but then it builds like NIN's stuff. It also is drum'n'bass-esque at the latter half.

All in all, this threw me for a trippy loop... or a loopy trip... or eh... nevermind. HEADCHESSE!
