I'm running Windows Vista on 64-bit. I am getting so unnerved, because FamiTracker is skipping and popping like a scratched LP. I once restarted the computer, and it helped, but this last time, it didn't do anything. Can anyone please help?

Thanks,
Rob

Have you tried changing the buffer length to something Higher?

You might also need to turn the sample rate down a bit if changing the buffer length doesn't help enough. A buffer length just under 90ms should work fine.

Thanks guys! I did the buffer thing, but now I know a better suitable limit. Also, thanks com63, because I will try the sample rate thing if that acceptable buffer length doesn't work.

Ironically, turning the sample rate *up* to 48000 Hz actually works better than the preset 44100 Hz (at least for me). =P Also, try turning off programs that you don't need.

The sample rate should preferably be set to what your sound card is using and nothing else, otherwise the audio has to be resampled and this will add some delay.

The proper way to fix the issue is to adjust the sound buffer size until it stops skipping. This is also what the FAQ suggests: http://famitracker.com/wiki/index.php?title=Frequently_Asked_Questions
