I'm using it as a reverb channel in one section and in copying over the notes from the square channel it was instantly clear that all my Qxx, Rxx, 2xx, and 4xx effects are affecting the FDS channel's pitch much differently than the square channel's. Puzzlingly, I had to make the speed value of the Qxx and Rxx effects 8 times greater to approximate the square channel. Also, I had to make the speed value of the 2xx effects 4 times greater, and I had to make the intensity of the 4xx effects 2 times greater.
This is because the Pxx, Qxx, etc. commands are based directly on the frequency register, which is different between the FDS and 2A03 (FDS has more precision, I think, as well as higher register values corresponding to higher frequencies instead of the opposite like in the 2A03.) If you want more detail then rainwarrior made some tables here.
Actually, the first originals DC didn't get streamed because there weren't enough entries to warrant it. The second one (MMC5) didn't get streamed because I was in Europe for the duration of the contest and didn't really have time to organise the contest as best I could... Maybe this time it'll be different? We'll see. :)
i've got something cooked up. i'm holding off on submitting it, in the event that i decide to polish it at the last minute. or maybe make something even better!
