I have been trying to get good at using Famitracker but every time that I come up with something, I listen to it and think it's bad and throw it away... I've been listening to a lot of danooct1 ^.^ and moviemovies1's material. I just really need to know the best place to start.
I felt the same way at first too. I just experimented with genres until I found the one that works for me. I'd suggest the same, but it took me months o.o

Yeah, I love mega man and the pace that its done. But I can't seem to get it right. I experiment with a beat aaaand it's like thats not good, so I move on to a square but that doesn't sound good either. I know I could do it, I just can't start it. I made it 1/4 through a Crash Man cover before I listened to what I did and gave up lol.
I wasn't meant for Rock Man, so I switched to Akumajou Densetsu...and fell in love. It takes lots of learning and studying of other works of the game/franchise. Experiment like crazy or use the same instruments by getting ahold of one of 8bitDannoct1's works like his VRC6 Farewell to Ballade or his Get the Punk Out. I did the same with moviemovies1's Aquarius for some AD instruments. It will help you out a lot
