Hi, guys! I just started working on FamiTracker a few days ago and I'm not very good at it. To make writing music easier I wanted to study some of the existing 8-bit songs used in games and I heard about some NES music analyzing software that could help me do that, but I can't find any...
I was wondering if anyone could help me by suggesting me such a (possibly downloadable and free) program.
Thank you in advance.
Welcome to the forums, even though you'll probably vanish after your question has been answered. Have fun with the program and all. *thumbs up*
Excuse my cynical behaviour but it's become so common now...

I record (some) NSFs on hardware. Feel free to [url=http://www.famitracker.com/forum/posts.php?id=3633]request a hardware render.
Thank you for your time and for your help. This solves all my problems.
Not quite what I expected, though... I heard that importing NSF files into FamiTracker was nigh impossible to do. Strange...
Of course, that doesn't really matter. I'll stick to this program until I get good enough and probably even then
P.S. Thanks for the nice welcome. No, I won't vanish immediately. Maybe I can help someone that has the same problems I have - you never know.
The NSF import tool is just a hacked version of FT. It just displays all the raw music data of the song... at 900 BPM, so prepare your eyes.
EDIT: AND WELCOME!!!

Yeah, sorry about that, I really do wish you'll stick around and show us what you're capable of with the tracker. I just tend to get annoyed when people who have never used the forum sign on just to ask a question that a simple search could've solved. Oh well, you have your answer now, so yay~

That's nonsense. A few simple searches, let alone one simple search wouldn't have solved the question at all.

Actually one search can bring up plenty of results.

It may not be the perfect results, but it shows how various NSF related material can be easily found. You just need to know how to use google.

Google can give you the right results only if you enter the right search terms. A smart guy like you would be able to figure that out in a few milliseconds, of course. It's just that if you search Google or the forums for a NES music analyzer, you get mostly useless results.
In that case, there's nothing wrong with asking. We're here to help, after all.
I only joined to ask a question and dissapeared... but I came back when I better knew my way around the software. Also, maybe it's just me, but the "search" feature on this forum is abysmal at best.

lol. The first time I signed in here, I posted a cover of a TMNT song, got laughed at because everything was wrong about it, which wasn't totally true, I got discouraged, and almost quit. Luckily my brother, which is also a FamiTracker composer, kept bugging me to keep trying. I didn't sign in for 3 months, practicing like crazy and finally came back with a new name.
BTW Welcome newcomer! If you have any questions that isn't too technical, i'll be glad to help you, just PM me.
