My very idea when launching this contest was to make it a series of quick-fire rounds to see what people could come up with in a really really short time, and reward their extraordinary ability to do so by granting them a place in history. I feel preparing your entry way in advance is comparable to cheating in a sense, since it defeats the purpose of making these contests happen on a monthly basis. If it's going to be a constant problem, I guess I'll go the Famicompo way and make this a yearly or half-yearly event instead. Not that I want to, but it really grinds my gears having participants openly admit that they will cheat the system like that.
anyone else find it ironic that the guy who posted a song from 5 years ago in the last 2a03 originals compo is complaining about people who potentially started their entry before the compo?
For the record my FTM from last compo was created within the time limit, not 5 years ago. Not to mention it being an obvious joke entry for those in the know. Really I have no idea what this has to do with my previous post!
I don't see why it matters when an entry was written, or whether they took 3 weeks or 5 years to do it. If you've got 5 years of good unreleased material sitting around you deserve to be able to use it.
Considering how much room there is to improve in a span of 5 years, I'd be very surprised if anyone has 'good' material that has been sitting around for that long.

The fact that you or anyone else don't agree with me doesn't mean you're free to do what you want. My contest, my rules; and I still maintain that you should only submit entries that were written specifically for the contest, within the contest's duration.
Pie: that probably explains why my joke entry from DC2 ranked so low then!
I mostly rely on the honour system; if you guys have no honour, then I guess I'll stop making these contests. Not that I want that to happen, but how hard is it to just be fair game when participating?!
And jrlepage, if you are going to stop making these contests because of this trivial issue, I will visit you in France and slap you in the face personally.
