Here is a Namco 163 cover of "Doorway" from the X68000 game Laplace no Ma. It uses all eight channels, so it sounds pretty terrible in v0.3.8 beta 4 (even with only four channels switched on) as well as in beta 3, so you might as well just listen to the NSF.
...In which case, if you have NotSoFatso, you can set the N163 channel panning like so to match the the original:

This.
This is EXACTLY why FT should have a bloody switch to turn the N163 whine off.
Nice cover btw.

This time's a VRC7 cover of the third power-up BGM from [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Star_Force]Final Star Force. I think it came out pretty well, enjoy.
Here's a classical RP2A03 cover of Kickle Cubicle/Meikyuu Jima/Adventure Island's boss theme. It tries to be closer to the original arcade version than the official [url=http://nsf.joshw.info/k/Kickle%20Cubicle%20%5bMeikyuu%20Jima%5d%20(1990-06-29)(Irem).7z]FC/NES port, which also has some wrong notes.
The percussive synth sounds and general scratchiness made a decent transition, I think. Recording of the arcade version provided for comparison.
These are pretty cool. The Kickle one did turn out well; I think overall the official FC/NES music is passable despite not being that well transcribed (though nothing sticks out quite as badly as the messed up bassline clashing with the one other sustained channel in the NES boss theme's opening... they dropped the ball on that one).
"Adventure Island" is a different game, isn't it? :-)

Irem's other ports for the system are similar, as far as being merely passable in the transcription/sound design. I guess they used a really basic sound driver, or just didn't spend enough time on them.
And, yeah... that part of the FC/NES version's intro. I almost laughed the first time I heard it.

I got that title from [url=http://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=741]here, and just figured it was the European release name or something.

Huh, that's weird. Always knew Adventure Island as that wacky game with the shirtless dude who can get a skateboard and such. I wonder what they called that in Europe, then.
The Japanese title of KC translates to "Maze/Labyrinth Island," for what it's worth.
undeadline68k_st9opm.ftm - N163 (4x) cover of ST9.OPM from the Sharp X68000 version of Undeadline (recording of the original is also attached).
ghouls_level3.ftm - something less obscure? N163 (4x) cover of Baron Rankle's Tower from [url=http://vgmrips.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=376]Ghouls 'n Ghosts. Based on the arcade version.
[size=0]I probably should've made and posted these in time for Halloween, instead, but alas...
