All 26 possible combinations of more than one expansion chip in FamiTracker. They are not regarded as valid expansion chips in FamiTracker, so do not expect NSF exportation right away, but at least it is a good start to compete with PPMCK and related MML-driven composing software.

Using an FDS instrument via the virtual keyboard in the instrument editor forces the cursor to warp to whatever the 6th channel is, but other than that you can do anything as usual.

These FTM's all use 8 N163 channel whenever used. PM me if you want FTM's with fewer channels, or do the job yourself with Cheat Engine.

Credits to TomoAlien for suggesting it even though it should have been done a long time ago.

would it actually be possible to create an .nsf with all these channels or is there some sort of limit?

I'm aware that you cannot export to .nsf with this.

Other than that amg

It probably needs a rewrite of the NSF driver.

Well, already fixed it and well, it wasn't here when I was writing the reply. :/

I've found out about this when I was toying around with FamiTracker to see if there were any unused extensions. Well, the Sunsoft 5B is unused, but you can't do anything with it. When I did a bunch of .ftm files to see what in the header sets the soundchip bit, I found out that they went up in powers of two. Since I saw this behavior before I tried to add 2 soundchip values together, and Voila. I was surprised when I saw this :P.

Now, hopefully, once jsr gets multichips to export NSFs this can be officially here sooner than we know it. Or not. I don't really know.

Heh, jsr has been working on this feature a while. There's also a lot of code for 5B even though I believe he hasn't started on its instrument editor yet. If you get the source code it's there to be enabled, but all of this is obviously unfinished.

There's a high probability he will need to change the file format around when he finishes it, making anything you build with your hacked version invalid when it's actually finished and ready.

Well we can always copy and paste the patterns and save and import the instruments when the time comes, but it would be tedious, LOL.

It's good to have if you're a real, hardcore musician. I mean; if you're able to create something with multiple channels, why not do so?
