I think I'm done with mine, mostly cuz I ran into a dead end. The 422 effect really seemed to give the song a slightly creepier, darker feel so I had it on Square 2 the whole time.

EDIT: I guess I should give a description of what I envisioned this to be. Since the subject was "A Dark Discovery" I imagined it to be some evil power that was sealed away in a cave and forgotten over the ages. Someone accidentally stumbles upon the cave and this is their exploration of the mechanisms in the cave sealing the power.

This may be getting put into an action-adventure game I'm in the process of developing, but haven't decided. It'll probably go through a few revisions if it does.

i picture this playing during a cutscene where archaeologists unearth an ancient lich that's been sealed away or something.

I have to admit that I don't even know where to start with Western Cyberpunk. Hopefully I'll have enough time to finish the bi-weekly and then get around to thinking up something that would work in a cyberpunk western...

yea, this one'll be a challenge. i'd say just try your best to jot down the first knee jerk reaction to the phrase and whatever images and sounds it makes you think of or feel.

i imagine that's simply what composition had to be like for themes that we now consider generic and derivitive, like western movie aesthetics. like before the soundtrack for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly became a definitive sound for westerns, a composer would have to rely on musically cultivating his own mental images and the music and sounds associated with the topic or theme in question. and not rely on referencing an established style.

that's arguably how it should always be, i think. haha, i'd like to see zanzan join in on a few of these.

looks like this thing was a bust..i'm also finding it hard to really get into doing this with all the compos going on here, at botb and elsewhere..

maybe we can try again some other time if there's ever a need for it.

I'm now tempted to write a song for the theme "Sleep mode", even though this is on hiatus.
