I got a message from VGC6 so I'm unlocking this thread again.

VGC6: There is no way to do an automatic tempo shift, but you can use the Fxx effect together with the interpolate command to perform a tempo slide. Enter the initial tempo on the start row and the target tempo on the last row, then select these rows and use interpolate (right click menu) and it will fill all middle rows with new interpolated tempo effects.
