What do you lot suggest that's a good phone that plays NSFs? I NEED it.

Ability to easily use forums like this would be good too (and maybe chans)

What phone do you use? Differentt OSes run different apps.

If you have an iPhone, there's Noise Entertainment System:

For any Android smart phone, there's DroidSound (which plays a few other chiptune formats).

I do not currently use a smartphone. I hardly get any internet on it and can't log in to this forum for some reason.

But as for formats, I think all those listed here: http://heossentials.tumblr.com/formats

If I could get something that plays all of those, I'd be set.

On the iPhone there's an app called Modizer that glues together a ton of tracker libraries to play a ton of formats. On the main page, it doesn't even list the formats, just the playback engines: "Amiga and PC modules (UADE & libmodplug), Atari ST/Amstrad CPC (ST-Sound & SC6, C64 (sidplay2/resid), Sharp X68000 (MDX/PDX), Nintendo/Sega/Nec/Sony (Game Music Emulator, sexypsf, aosdk)". However, it's also a huge app, clocking at over 200 MB. But I like having it around.

Modizer all the way baby

NoiseES doesn't even support the VRC7 or the MMC5. When I messaged the author (Shaun Inman) about it, I got no response, so I stopped using it. Then Moot Booxlé told me about Modizer, and that's what I've been using ever since. It has support for all expansions (since it uses the GME libraries), and I've had no issues at all with it.

I think Modizer is a bit more pricey than NoiseES ($4.99 vs. $2.99 I think?), but nothing that'll make you a poor man.

Well you didn't specify any device so I went with what I knew. I don't know about Android or Blackberry devices, so can't help you there, sorry.

I'm listening to famicompo and it seems like it doesn't support VRC7 or FDS Not sure about 5B or N163 yet.

Then it's just like NoiseES. Does it support the MMC5?

Somewhat related...

Hm... Does anyone know of an open-source NSF player that works on ARM devices? (I just need the source code to cross-compile it.)

I tried NoseFart, but I couldn't get it working.

That'd depend on the platform. I keep pushing GME, but that's a library, not a player. Try something that uses that? (Or its standalone NSF emulation library, on the same page?)

Okay.

Anyway, it's a Linux-based ARM9 handheld @533Mhz.
