[url=http://screenshooter.net/6047714/wbcegpb]here is a screenshot of the waveform of an oboe. convert the waveform to an n106 or fds string, add a volume envelope, and that will literally be the closest thing you will be able to get to it on the NES without dpcm.

but why would you want to use dpcm.

There's is nothing wrong with using other people's stuff as long as they're ok with it. The time spend on making instruments could be used to practice music. This is why most composers only use pre-set instruments in the DOS/SNES/GENESIS era.
