So I kinda admire virt. In late December he put out [url=http://virt.bandcamp.com/album/mighty-switch-force-ost]the soundtrack for this game (a 3DS downloadable title) and it's totally awesome. (Aside: I got a 3DS for Christmas and proceeded to download this game. It's also totally awesome.) I knew pretty quickly that I wanted to cover something from it into FamiTracker.

Not too long ago, I started work on it, but I was having trouble figuring out all the harmonies on the main melody. So I thought "what the hell" and asked virt over Twitter for the individual tracks. [url=https://twitter.com/#!/virtjk/status/159775530051309569]He totally gave them to me. After the moment of "this is totally awesome" passed, I set to work.

And here it is. It's hard to put that kind of distorted bass into FT, but I'm pretty proud of what I did. Enjoy!

the original soundtrack does have a lot of dubstep influence, so maybe.

The whole "don't show what you submit" thing is more of an unwritten rule and isn't enforced. Now go submit it while there's still time! Submission period ends in 9 hours as of writing this post (Monday 11:59 PM JST).

The rule isn't unwritten; it's there on the front page. It's just a very soft rule (this is also mentioned on that page).

It's bad form to release it publicly beforehand, because anonymity makes for fairer judging.

Anyhow, don't worry, submitting it now is not a real problem.

Yeah I guess "unwritten" wasn't the best word - "optional", perhaps? :p

EDIT: you might want to make that YouTube video unlisted until the end of the competition, though. I can also remove your thread if so you desire.

Hmm. I went ahead and unlisted my video, but I want to keep this thread open. I don't think the community of this board is sizeable enough to worry about it. It's a different story than if I posted it to, say, 8bc. Also, this being my first famicompo, I'm not gonna care that much.
