Checked out your songs on MMLshare. Sounded pretty good!
So your question is: How do I get ppmck set up with mumml? // How do I build nsfs?
I never used mumml, but I can help you get ppmck working.
Download PPMCK, go into songs folder. Put your mml file there and rename it 'songdata.mml'. Make a new text file, write 'mknsf songdata' and save it as 'build.bat' in your songs directory. Now, whenever you double click build.bat, it will try to compile 'songdata.mml' into 'songdata.nsf'.
Thanks for the help, and the compliments I love your "Above Slumberland". I still listen to it every now and then.
I tried your method. It gave me 3 "h" files (define, effect and songdata), but no nsf. I used a very simple mml ("Argonian Children", you can find it on MMLShare), so it wouldn't cause any problem...
About mumml: it's great! Once it's setup, writing mml and making nsf is as easy as using MMLShare.
I used mumml myself for a while. I have no idea how it was setup, and now that it stopped working properly, I don't know what to do.
Anyway, where did you download your version of PPMCK? Maybe I'll have better luck with it. (And btw, are the compiling error messages in japanese, in your version? They are in mine )

I used to use MCK. As for the compiling errors, you can set a flag to show English instead. Try running the compiler (in a command line) with /h /? or /help flags or without any flags or input to show which flags you can use.

Tadpole, thank you for answering this question of his, the first one I mean, helped me learn too. Now to find a download to PPMCK that works on my 64-bit pc where the page/the program aren't entirely in japanese.
It looks like the website that hosted ppmck isn't up anymore. Luckily, I have it saved, though. Here it is. The error messages are in Japanese, but it tells you which line number is the problem, so it's usually easy to figure out what's wrong when you have errors.
edit: I tried compiling Argonian Children, and it worked just fine. Let me know if you get it working or not.

Oh, if I had known...
I'll try it again tomorrow, see if I can make it work.

If anyone's interested, here's what I did to get it to work. I made it detailed, in case you're just as computer savvy as I am.
1. Follow this link
Scroll down, d/l the mummlppmck zip file provided by rushjet.
2. Follow this link, download and install perl (I have strawberry perl; works for me).
3. Unzip the mummlppmck folder. Open mumml.exe, and click the "configure" button. Make the following changes:
- Under "basic configure", you need to change the pathname so it matches the location of your favorite text editor. I wanted to use notepad++, so I clicked "Refer" and then found notepad++.exe in my Program Files folder.
- Under "compile configure", click refer and find mml2nsf.pl (it's in the mummlppmck folder. Just follow this path: mummlppmck\prog\ppmck\scripts\mml2nsf.pl
- Under "compile configure", select the program you use to listen to NSF. I use foobar2000, so I clicked "Refer" and found foobar2000.exe in my Program Files folder.
- Make sure the setting names under BAT script and File filter are "ppmck-pl".
- Now go back to mumml, and click on the "Set target file" button. Find a .mml file you have created, and select it.
VOILA.
Everytime you make a change in the selected .mml file and save it, mumml will make that change to the associated .nsf file, and launch it in the file player you have selected.
Also, everytime you open mumml, the selected .mml file will open in your text editor of choice.
It makes work so much easier .

I record (some) NSFs on hardware. Feel free to request a hardware render.

To make the error messages appear in English, just go into ppmck/bin and rename ppmckc_e.exe to ppmckc.exe (making sure to back up the original version first, just in case).
