Im covering the battletoads arcade soundtrack, and realized that the korpse kount track sounds very similar to the first stage of the nes battletoads game. I'm guessing its a remix, what do you guys think?

That's cool that you noticed that! It was fun comparing the two songs.

I don't know if I would call it a remix, but it's definitely based on ideas from the NES Battletoads stage 1. (rhythms/melodies)

On another note: Battletoads(Gameboy)-Stage 1
seems to be inspired by/based on the bike level's music in the NES version of Battletoads.

Unless I'm mistaken, David Wise did the music for all three of those games (NES, GB, Arcade). It makes some sense that he might reuse material between them.

I'm rather partial to the GB soundtrack (it was the one I had as a kid). I did my own cover of stage 6:
