I really like Famitracker, but I don't really like trackers. I have this daydream of a Sequencer frontend for Famitracker, like, a program where you can create notes like in Reason or Cakewalk or Cubase, but all you're doing is really edit the patterns in Famitracker, only you don't see them. I'm not suggesting jsr should make something like this, but, if you knew how to make a sequencer, editing FamiTracker to take input from another program (like a sequencer frontend) instead of from the keyboard should be pretty easy, right? I mean, you can do pretty much anything using the keyboard in FT, so if you can make a program that correctly translates mouse input into keyboard commands, this could probably work. Mirite? Now, all I need is to learn how to make a sequencer...
it seems like wayfar has packed up and left the planet, so the midines cartridge is no longer. i ordered one, it was never shipped and the company doesn't respond to emails. too bad, very nice looking product. http://www.wayfar.net/ any chance anyone is developing midi control of a real NES or Famicom through a cartridge? that would open up the options for a sequencer front end.

Since I guess you want actual NSF Files, you could create them using MML ([url=http://www.nullsleep.com/treasure/mck_guide/]mck!).
There are some Tools like an Midi to MML Converter or and a whole Sequencer that outputs MML [url=http://www.x68000.de/music-creation/composing-with-mml-tools/]here.
This would not involve Famitracker though :s. You could still use it to make values for the instruments or something, which is not that easy when you work with MML.
Right. It would be nice to have something like Visual MML, if you like, a sequencer that can open and save MML files that can then be converted to NSF. If either one is created it should be easy to make something that can do the other thing too. I have heard of Midi to MML before but I never saw the sequencer. Thanks!
EDIT: Ok, 3ml looks great, but there's no manual in English and I really don't understand how to use it...
