I have these 2 nsfs of Timeman and Oilman's stage themes. I want some experienced opinions of how close these are to the style of Mega Man 1.
If they're not up to par then I'd like someone to bring them up to par.
I didn't make these, I have permission to use them as I please, but I'm really inept when it comes to music of any sort, not to mention I'm tone def in one ear.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as the music is the only thing I can't do for my fan game. Thanks!
Unless you have the NSF files in FTM form, than no one would be able to edit them easily anyways. Of course, you could convert the NSF to an FTM (which would create a 900 BPM extremely hard to edit song) but that isn't really a viable option.
Honestly, I don't really hear any Megaman game in either of these.
The first one is, uhm.... interesting.
I really like the second one though.
Also, are you sure 'permission to use' is the same as 'permission to edit'?
I put them in my playlist along with the original MM1 nsf and they sound pretty close to that instrumentation to me. Also, they are songs from a Megaman game. Also, yes, I have permission to do as I please with them.

So I can either try to track down the ftm or hope someone would be willing to remake them from scratch. Hmmm... That could be a tall order either way.
Hi, welcome to the forums. It's great to have you here, but please, do take some time to read the rules when you have a minute.

The name of this forum section alone should be a pretty obvious clue, anyway.
So yeah, since you're not presenting any sort of work whatsoever (at least not from you), I'll move this to FT talk.

I record (some) NSFs on hardware. Feel free to request a hardware render.
Oh... oops. I noticed that just as I was reading this. I guess I just posted here cause I'm so used to coming straight to this forum most of the time. Sorry.
Hah, I just noticed you'd been here almost as long as I have, sorry about that. :p Still, the rules apply to anyone. I trust you understand that.

Of course, Dude. I was careless. :P
I'm not exactly active around here since I'm not a composer.
Since I'm tone def in one ear anything I could cobble together would probably sound horrible much in the same vein as my banshee-like singing voice.
