Studio quality Sennheiser headphones... Maybe it's my super-sensitive ears or something. But I definitely think the patch sounds a little bit too thin. :)
Like HD 595s or something? I know those are kind of bright. I'm using these. Maybe it would sound better as an nsf...
Anyway, some progresss. Simplified the melody a bit to give it more room to breath. Added a new build-y part. Lot's of tweaks to the drums to better accompany the melody.
edit: more melody tweaks (now it's in phrygian AND blues scale) and more frames to make the progression more satisfying.
edit2: fixed some volume and echo issues
edit3: more tweaks to the progression. added some stabby chords on pulse 1 and 2. totally abusing Bxx instead of rearranging frames.

Totally, that was pretty much the idea. I discovered that sound by accident when I was messing with that instrument. It sounds exactly like a high-pass filtered version of itself.

Well you can check out the settings for yourself, but basically the high-passed version has "Wave rectification" checked under "Modulator settings", whatever that does.
Update before bed: cleaned up the melody a bit, fixed some harmonies, ditched the Bxx labyrinthian weirdness, started a new part but I think my creative juices have run dry for tonight.
If anyone wants to finish the verse I started or something...

A very WIP MMC5 cover of "Theme of Isis" - Was curious of how this song would sound if it were truly 8-bit. Mute the fourth square channel for now, unless you feel like fixing it, then go on ahead. Still trying to make the two 2A03 squarewaves sound their best.
Some fragments of an OST for a game I planned - Rather early compositions, but some of them (like the win and lose tunes) sound pretty good.
The notes for Pulse 2 in Vampire and stuff sound like they're in a completely different scale than the rest of it. It sounds like it should be minor pentatonic.
Also I'm thinking of recording guitar and making a chiptune-folk song.
