Here's a WIP of a Darkmoon Cavern cover (from Diddy Kong Racing) I started with a friend of mine.

I'll probably finish it later.

This sounds great, at least in nsf form. I wish the Namco module didn't sound so grating in FamiTracker or else I'd probably use it more.

Here's what I've been working on. First is a VRC6 original I started yesterday, inspired by the Halloween season I guess. Mostly I just wanted to write something "evil" sounding again.

Second is a cover of the track Flow from the FEZ soundtrack by Disasterpeace. I got as far as I did and then realized I'd need more channels. :/

edit: looks like they got switched so the first one is actually the cover.

edit2: fixed some wrong notes in Come My Dear and added a little off-beat arp part at the end.

edit3: minor tweaks

edit4: badass-ified the main melody and tweaked some other stuff

edit5: further attempts to make the melodies more varied/interesting. HAVE I GONE TOO FAR?!

edit6: yes I have. reigned in the changes a bit and added a harmonizing part in the second melody.

edit7: scaled back a little bit more. hopefully it flows better now.

edit8: minor melody adjustments, better sounding stabs, better use of Pxx, loops more seamlessly. think I'm gonna call this "done" (fingers crossed)

edit9: JUST CAN'T LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE

edit10: fin

Thanks!

If you wanna use the N163, there's always beta 3 of 0.3.8... Or you could enable 6 or fewer channels.

There is an edit button in the upper right corner of your post. Use that instead of quadruple-posting.

Also if you have already made another thread for it don't bother double posting, if it's a problem a moderator will move it.

(I don't speak for them, I just assume because that's what I would do :P)

EDIT: Also on your Ultra 1-Up clip, you have several custom patches on at once, the VRC7 chip can only use ONE custom patch at a time, so choose wisely!

I guess I'll MMC5 here. A short loop entitled "Proceed to Next Area".

It was gonna be a joke entry for the MMC5 democompo, but whatever.

6 songs, I'm thinking about the possibility of finishing. Certainly not forget to give credits to PaulMannIV, I used the N163 instruments he created. the instruments were used in the last two songs.

1 - Cheetah Men (N163 Remix)

2 - The Legend of Zelda - Overworld theme (N163 Remix)

3 - Super Mario Bros. - Star theme (N163 Remix)

4 - Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - Emerald Hill zone 2 players (N163 Reggae Remix)

5 - Akumajou Densetsu - do not know the name of this song (N163 Cover)

6 - Top Gear (N163 Cover)

BONUS: Bad Apple, started about an hour ago.

Would love to have a look at that FTM!

EDIT: the last three stracks stall after a few seconds. Did you use 0.4.0? 0.4.1 fixes a lot of export issues, maybe you should use that instead. If you did use 0.4.1, it might be worth filing a bug report.

edinhU those covers were awesome, just plain awesome.

I decided to try to improve my instrumentation skills and this is the result.

A Halloween special tune!

Hopefully I will finish it by Halloween, but I just started a new job.

The Namco organ was inspired by another recently posted tune, but I've forgotten which. Credit goes to whoever recognises the similarity!
