Another departure from usual FamiTracker contents!

I gave AdlibTracker2 a go yesterday and started covering the first track from Lagrange Point, as well as a Deflemask YMU759 demo tune. Both are WIPs.

The Lagrange Point A2M contains all the VRC7 default instruments!

EDIT: Finished the Brilliant Snow cover!

this was starting to look like a wip for famicompo, but i'm really not going to have time to finish it.

i at least wanted to share what's there, i spent a LOT of time shaping the sound design on that little bit there. my goal was to make a classic nsf(no dpcm) covering a complex fusion tune, i picked magic mirror.

between the tri bass, melody sq1 and rhythm sq2 playing 3 note arps, I can get those huge chords if i pay attention to voicing.

all channels are producing the kick and snare and sq1 and sq2 share each others echoes in times of phrase release. the tom noise has a nice noise leak on the release which gives a neato realistic texture. also touched on simulating reverb on the snare.

anyway, i'm satisfied with how this approach is looking, i can cover a lot of stuff, melody and two rhythm instruments, the bass, and a punchy kit including toms. but magic mirror is just too big a thing to complete, no time to make a six minute song with this amount of detail.
