Here's a feature request...
I was inspired by Drag's DragNSF engine. It has a feature where you can set it to automatically shut off a channel X rows before the next note starts. (I later modified that sound engine to support fractional rows for note shutoff instead of whole rows.)
Now I know that rows is a very coarse unit of time for an effect like this, and shutting the channel off isn't that great. So I'd like to see a feature where you can set an instrument to automatically switch to the "Note Off" envelope X frames or rows before the next note starts. This could eliminate the need for "S" effects in the triangle channel, and help with certain types of fade or echo effects in other channels.
I can think of several times where this feature would have helped.
PS: I really don't like how release envelopes delay one frame before switching to the non-looped part.
