I downloaded a song just to check how neat songs can sound if you're a good famitrack-user. When I tried to put the exact same settings for an instrument as in the song I heard I noticed that the ms was different in the sound, arpeggio and noise. When I insert 1 lenght to sound my ms goes from 0 to 16. The ms on the songs instrument whent from 0 ms to 20ms, so I'm just wondering where I can change the ms or something.

And yes, I'm a beginner to famitracker and haven't used any tracker similiar so I suck at these things, but I'm not afraid of trying to learn^^

What the hell is ms? And what do you mean by "the exact same seetings" ... "as in the song you heard"?

Hehe, I can understand you're confused. I downloaded a ftm file from this site called "Enchanted lands: Game over (cover)". When I tried to make the exact same sound as one of the arpeggio instruments I got the same sound though it was played alot faster. This is what I mean. When you edit the instrument go to volume or whatever, you can se at the bottom it says "Length: # 0,0 ms", and when you increase the length it goes from "Length: # 0,0, ms" to "Length: # 1,16 ms {0:0}"

At least this is what it shows to me, but in the song I opened I noticed that it goes from "Length: # 0,0 ms" to "Length: # 1,20 ms". That is my problem. Hopefully you'll understand what I mean at least^^

Attach both ftm files to your next post so I can look at them.

EDIT: I'm stupid. Nevermind.

EDIT 2: Damnit, you're right! It does say 20ms when you open a new song but 16 when you open the demo one. Go to the Famitracker menu, select "Tracker" and then "NTSC". Start a new song or reload the one you were currently working on. Now the ms should be 16. The reason behind all this is because the NES comes in two versions - one American and one European one (basically), and they don't have the same clock speed. The demo song was probably created using Famitracker in NTSC mode, and Famitracker starts in PAL mode by default. I don't know if the music plays faster in, say, the NTSC version of Mega Man 2 than the PAL one or not though...

Nitpick: I think you're getting things backwards. FamiTracker starts in NTSC mode by default, not PAL. It'd make little sense for FamiTracker to start in PAL mode by default. Likewise, you said, "It does say 20ms when you open a new song but 16 when you open the demo one," when the original poster reported it the other way around. But yes, this is caused by the NTSC/PAL difference.

For what it's worth, Japan used NTSC as well.

Hm. I might have changed it to PAL mode myself, then. Whatever, I'm sure it solved the issue for him.
