Hi, does anyone have any tips for reducing crackle when using WAVs in the DPCM channel. I'm particularly having trouble with a bass pedal WAV I have.

Thanks.

Er, what kind of crackle you are talking about?
If "distortion" is the word, then just lower the volume level of the WAV hen converting it.

I guess he is talking about the "click noise" that is heard when playing a DPCM sound using the keyboard... Well this click sound (at the end of a sample) is not heard in the music while pressing Play.

The crackle didn't seem to be distortion, as it happened at points of silence within the sample. I trimmed it down and it sounds better now. Thanks anyways.

My question is... how can I manage samples to sound good in famitracker? I've imported some .wavs (at different volumes) and haven't obtained very good results. Any sample editor to have .dpcm files?

well, 1-bit sound isn't going to be very good regardless of what you do with it, and getting it the best it can be is hit-or-miss.

What is it that you're sampling? If it's drums I have some ready-made samples you can use.
