I have only been on FT for a week, and this is the first song I created.

Well, it's a very short loop, but it's enough to know where you're at in terms of your skills with the program.

You've got a good melody going, but one thing you need to do is control your volume levels for each channel that you use. Unfortunately, when I listen to your loop, both square wave channels build their volume on top of one-another, making the song itself intolerably louder than what one can listen to over an extended period of time.

To improve volume control, you have three options. One would be to use the instrument settings to set your volume to a lower value, or to create special volume patterns. Another way would be to use the special single-digit volume column in the channel that you're working on:

C-03 00 x ---

Where x is any number from 0-15 & where the numbers 10-15 are represented by the letters A-F. The third option would be to use the three-digit effects column in conjunction with the single-digit volume column:

C-03 00 x Ayz

Where Ayx is the volume fade-in/out effect (A00 represents no volume change & where y & z can be any of the same 15 values as stated previously). Note that, for a volume fade-out, you use A0z & for a fade-in, you use Ay0.

For more information on this, have a look at the wiki or the program's help file.
