Because I find that's all I can really compose.

It's really simple, but I hope it's still somewhat good.

Indeed, it is. You're a member for 551 days, but if this is all that you feel you can compose, then you're underestimating yourself. It takes a while to learn the ins & outs of both music & tracking for the NES.

I like how your triangle complements your squares (that's the harmony that I'm always talking about in many threads; it's something that I find many people lack when they begin composing music).

Now, for the simplicity of the song, you also made good syncopation with your speed changes, but an area that you can improve on is syncopation in your notes; I've noticed that both of your square channels carried the exact same tune, save for an added note (known in music theory as an accidental) in the 2nd channel. I feel that you need a few more accidentals; this would bring more syncopation to the overall tune.

Your work shows great promise; keep on practicing & learn to use the different tricks of your instrument (i.e.: try experimenting with the effects available in FamiTracker).

Not bad. Kinda makes me think of World Games for the Atari ST for some reason.

Also, I couldn't resist doing this; it's that classic "western" bassline.

Well played, rainwarrion; well played. That added more syncopation to the track.

Another thing I've noticed in Minunlike song; he's using a volume of D to try & control the triangle channel. You can't control the triangle's volume like other channels. You can only use a volume of F or 0; triangle is either on or off (nothing in between).

However, there are tricks to control the triangle's volume with the DPCM channel; either use the Zxx effect (which will also create a pop once the effect's executed,) or use a sample set in your DPCM channel (you'll get cleaner results, but at the expense of your total amount of sample storage in the ROM).

I have indeed been a member for quite a while. However, it's been a long time since I've tried to compose anything in Famitracker.

Still, thank you for your kind words and constructive criticism. I'll definitely follow your advice in the future.

Also, I really like what you've done there, rainwarrior.
