Hmmm....
This track has no REAL improvement.

Can I ask you a question, what is the first channel you use when you create music?

What do you mean by improvement? Like no improvement from my first 2 tracks?

For this tune I worked it all out on piano beforehand. The first channel I used was the triangle. Then chords+lead, then drums.

I never heard your second tune, but there was no MAJOR improvement, maybe a little, but knowing how you make your songs, I have one suggestion

Try it like this, DPCM, Noise, Triangle, other things that are meant for beat, then the main channels.

I think I've gotten better doing this.

Its like this,
Making a fitting song to a simple beat is easy.
Making a fitting beat for a melody is hard.

I like to think that I am proficient in the drums/rhythm category, and that putting good drums to anything is what I do. But that is on a drumset, not famitracker.

Ok, I will try your technique next time. Although it always seems I am hurting for a good melody, and that if I find one I should build around it?

Thanks for the feedback!

Actually, the best technique would be to first create your own rhythm. The most important part is timing; you need to create a rhythm that carries a steady beat. Then, you can start with your bass (i.e.: triangle &, optionally, one of the two square waves). Then, you should establish your lead tune (using the remaining, or both square channels).

Now, if you're the type who prefers composing with lots of percussion, I'd recommend that you beatbox some kind of a drum pattern. Otherwise, if you prefer music that use less (or even no) percussion, whistle two separate tunes (or play them on a piano).

I say to whistle or play two tunes because that's the essence of a song, where the lead is one tune & the bass is a different tune that complements the lead.

I think you're on the right track but there's some quirks here and there that you need to fix, such as forgetting to reset vibrato when entering new notes. I've also optimised your general use of the VRC6 and fixed some chords here and there. It still isn't perfect IMO but it sure sounds more pleasant.

And to give a little note on resetting effects, the 4xx effect can be reset by using 400. Many effects can be reset to a normal state using x00, but some effects (like Axx) will simply stop the effect from continuing through its normal course.

Thanks a lot Jrlepage! Sounds a lot neater, and I like the echo you did with the sawtooth channel.

I appreciate all the tips and feedback, thanks!

Everyone has different taste.

some of my friends like my tracks, some of them don't,
No matter what you make, one person somewhere will like it.

Justin Bieber is the best example I can give you :D

Also, I know I'm not the best, perhaps I should have been a lot less critical, Honestly, I'm not too much into happier songs, only certain kinds.

I think I have improved, I mean look at my last thread. No one has posted on it, but I see that as there's nothing to change.

If you want to reply, please take it somewhere else, I don't want to pollute the creators thread.
