That's funny, the pitch sounds like it was composed for a PAL console!

It sure is a nice song. Cool cover~~

EDIT: After looking at the original song, it looks like the triangle channel should be ahead of all other channels by 1 frame. The slide down at the end of the tune on channel 1 is slightly off too (the duty cycle is wrong and so is the speed, I think). Other than that it seems to be pretty much 100% accurate.

Did you use rainwarrior's importer for a reference?

I know about the triangle thing, but I wasn't really sure how to achieve that when I did the cover. I actually had a similar thing with my Prince of Persia NES cover because the bass is a little off. I thought that slide at the end said V02 next to it, but I looked at it very quickly before working on the rest. The slide sounded right to me, but I don't know. But yeah, I used NSFImport.

The way I do it is by adding an extra FX column to all channels but triangle and gogo G01. As for the slide, it's definitely a 25% (or 75%, I haven't used the importer) duty cycle that's used, not 50%.

FTM Updated. Also, jrlepage, regarding the thing soundling like a PAL game, I know a lot of NES games had their music tuned sharp like that.

Good on ya then :p

What have you changed in the FTM exactly? I see you didn't delay the square channels one frame... Unless I'm missing something?

I don't know how to do that. All I did was change the duty cycle of the arpeggio note slide at the end.

*Facepalm* How come I didn't think of that?! Man I can be such an idiot sometimes. Thanks for that. Also, the Sxx effects on the triangle need to be increased by 1. I'll take care of that.

EDIT: Sxx commands have been fixed. Now this is pretty much a 100% cover.

You can't just shift up all the Tri notes and use a G05?

Or make every other instruments' volume string start with a 0?

'Cause I personally dislike expanding the FX column.

Those are also viable solutions. To each his own! The main issue with adding a 0 to all volume envelopes is that if one has carelessly used the same instrument for triangle, then it all adds up to nothing. :p But if you start your cover with that in mind, then it's not a problem.

1. Make new blank instrument
2. Highlight instrument column on Tri
3. Scroll up the mouse wheel
4. Stir potatoes
5. Done!

Doing so in a cover with many patterns in it is tedious though. And again like I said:

lol. I just got done with the title screen to Jimmy Connors Tennis. That one uses G01 one the triangle channel and the drums. I'm not going to post it here since it's not complete but if you want to PM me for a beta, then I'll give it to you. Mark Cooksey (who composed it) wrote the longest NES songs...

Also, I guess I've been doing Famitracker Covers lately because of two reasons:
1.) I have an OCD for it.
2.) I've had no real reason to compose my own music. :P

I don't know for sure, but I think I prefer my lazy pitch shift when doing dynowarz songs.

I'm not even sure if I checked it for the right amount of pitch shifting but I proooobably didn't care. I don't like to take things seriously.
