Hey I just started messing around with famitracker yesterday. I really like it. I've never used any programs to make music before. Please listen to my first tune and tell me what you think. I just learned that you can use ABCDE in the volume column. I thought F stood for full.

Let me know if you like it or you think it's crap.

Welcome!

This is quite nice, better than stuff some of our old members can put out. I can tell you have experience tracking.

Thanks! I appreciate the nice comment, especially since I have no experience tracking whatsoever (besides this song). I am just a drummer who can read sheet music.

Then I wonder what it will sound like when you get MPT or milky, which happens alot here, seeing as people need more than one option.

Thread cleaned up. This post got lost in the process so I'll quote it:

this certainly isn't crap, in fact this is great for someone who is just starting out IMO, you're first track is certainly better than many others (including mine). Welcome to the forums
Umm... Wow... Just... Wow.

Back on track!

Jwh_018; the volume control ranges for the full hexadecimal number range... 0-9 & A-F afterwards. You can also do volume fades using the Axx effect. You can find more through the tracker's help file, the wiki & experimenting.

I think the tune's kinda catchy but it lacks interesting musical content. It's akin to someone banging and bashing away on a synthesizer hoping to get good results.

Also it would've been nice to hear more of the VRC6, but there's time enough for you to become acquainted with it I suppose.

Sorry about that -

Thanks for the feedback, I know exactly what you mean. And I don't even know what VRC6 is really, I just thought I would try it.

I'll give it some more work
And I don't even know what VRC6 is really
It's an expansion that adds two extra square wave channels with extended pulse width capabilities (6.25%, 12.5%, 18.75%, 25%, 31.25%, 37.5%, 43.75% and 50% - the 2a03's default channels only has 12.5%, 25%, 50% and 75%), plus one sawtooth wave channel. Javel made some of the best VRC6 tunes I've ever heard, check out his thread here.

Version 3 of my first famitracker tune ever AKA 'Wanna Ride the Bus?'

Please let me know what you think!

To jrlepage: I checked out all of Javel's work, it is amazing! I especially love his cover of Alundra.

That IS much better.

I still wouldn't call it a masterpiece but you're getting the hang of it!

EDIT: You seem to have a bit of a problem with Bxx. You're using B01 in the middle of your module which makes it jump back to frame 01 prematurely. :o
