I would've liked to introduce myself not asking for help but since I'm with minus two songs to finish before posting a thread in the underlying section, and this issue concerns me right now, I just want to know if it's fixable somehow because besides the FTMs I also want to make separate NSFs for the remaining people who do not want FamiTracker (and I think NSFs in general sound more "intense" and "whole", if I'm not wrong with both words).
OK so the problem is NSF related, because into the tracking area this peculiar song works fine but if I happen to save it on a NSF file, the Square 1 channel begins to detune on frames 4-8 turning note terminators into other notes and such, I fail to see a pattern.
I'm currently using FamiTracker 0.3.6 (because that's the one on the site, it's stable and I don't know where to get the beta one, if any =3) on a Windows XP SP3 environment.
Sorry if this thread sorta actually exist but the search function doesn't work! I mean I input "NSF" and it doesn't list a thing! But at the time of my signing up, I remember it kinda did his duty. I looked up all the headlines in the 1st and 2nd page and it doesn't list such a problem then they go back to 0.3.5 that's when I stopped.
Hope you guys can figure this one out. Cookies guaranteed!
Here are the (yet) unfinished song, and the deriving NSF file:
I found the bug, in frame 4, channel 1 and row 11 there's a single value instrument column that won't do anything in the tracker but triggers a bug in the NSF exporter. Remove that and it exports without problems. (I'll also fix the bug in the exporter.)
I always thought that changing the instrument without a new note just switched volume, pitch, hipitch, arpeggio, and duty sequences if the new instrument had different sequence numbers than the old instrument. That's how it behaves in the tracker anyway, is that feature broken in the exporter?
That is what it's supposed to do but has been broken since a few versions. It will work again in 0.3.7. Changing to the same instrument should have no effect at all but in this case it messed up the exporter.
