I mentioned it in the "Post Your Instruments Here" thread, but I've recently been doing a little work on a cover of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata using the VRC7 instrument I posted in the aforementioned thread. It's not done yet, but I did all of the actual tracking in the past hour, so I'd say it's moving along nicely. I listened to a video of this being played on a piano, not the DOS version Rainwarrior gave (although that was pretty cool!)
Anyways, here's the file. I'll update this again when I make some more progress.

Though... how come there are so many alterations to the left hand? (Missing chord tones, no octaves, skipping repeated notes...) You've got 6 channels to play with, so I can't imagine you'd need to conserve them for this.

Well, like rainwarrior said, there are so many deviations from the actual notation of the music here.
If you can read music notation, I'd recommend that you use the above link for most of your work, instead of completely relying on a YouTube video or MP3. Your ears can easily betray you in a chord-rich song like this, so make sure you know your stuff.
Was the video you're using 15 minutes in length? Because that's how long the full sonata actually is.

The unreleased game The Adventures of Dr. Franken used Moonlight Sonata and Bach Prelude and Fugue in C Minor (Which I made an FTM of). Mark Cooksey arranged it. Give the songs a listen. The NSF is available.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it. You're right, my ears do play tricks on me when I hear it, but for the most part it is repeated notes.

No, I believe the video I was watching was the first movement, and it was about 9 minutes.
Rainwarrior, you mentioned there being some alterations of the left hand in the file I gave, which I only vaguely understand. I don't play as much piano as I would like (when I need a keyboard instrument I tend to use a marimba), but if I remember correctly the left hand tends to play chords while the right tends to play the melody.
Also, by "octaves," do you mean the same note played on two diferent octaves? I was thinking of using the remaining three channels for either that type of effect or maybe an echo, but I hadn't decided.

I mean that the original score has C#1 and C#2 in the left hand, not just C#2. This continues in parallel octaves. In measure 5 he starts adding other notes to the left hand chord.
Though, I mean, orchestrate/rewrite this piece as much as you like. I had originally assumed you were going by the original score, but maybe you're not.
And a marimba doesn't play quite like a piano; you're right when you say that the lead melody is played with the right hand (typically,) as most melodies tend to use treble notes for lead sequences. That's not to say that the left is used strictly for harmonic arpeggios.
But trust me; you'll need to take as much advantage of your VRC7 channels as you can; I'd rather use the square channels for a slight, low-volume echo than any of the VRC7 channels. That way, more notes can be added to specific chords that need them.

Yeah. Same keyboard, different instrument. To those who have never played a marimba, it naturally sounds more fun, but if you play it right it can almost sound as serious as a piano can. It's just impossible to use 5 mallets at once.

That's not a bad idea.
Doom, since I managed to not quote you last time (and you don't get a quote this time), I will look at the NSF.

Yeah. I think I have a few vids of him playing stuff. Flight of the Bumble Bee is one which I believe you did (the song is also in the NES game Road Runner).
