I was looking through the effects and noticed there's a Z which alters volumes of the DPCM but apparently affects Noise and Triangle as well. Is there a way to "compromise" so the Noise and Triangle volumes aren't lowered? I noticed they are lower than normal on any tracks using any DPCM material.

I didn't notice the noise channel was affected. I also thought the DPCM channel wasn't, only the triangle.

Volume will always change due to how mixing is done inside the APU.

The only way is to use samples with lower volume.

I see. Interesting, I didn't know the volume was a factor. I can probably lower my sample volumes easily enough then.
