I hate to break it to you guys who haven't heard yet, but jsr told me that he's having problems importing N106 into Famitracker.

Well, I can tell that this BIOS ROM was hacked big time; I tried using it in Nestopia with an FDS image & I got error #22 when I tried to load the game. :P

But yeah; at least there's a solution to that; the only problem to contend with is JSR's N106 problem.

It wasn't for an emulator... It was for said PowerPak NSF Player.

I know that; I was just trying it out on the emulator to see how complete the BIOS ROM is.

Oh, I guess it only works on the real hardware. :P

Another little tidbit, the NES can play FDS games, only with no extra sound, if you choose an FDS ROM in the PowerPak menu, it gives you the option to "insert disk" (there is obviously no disk) and if it's an A side /B side "disk" it then gives you the option to "flip" it.

Actually, it's one of the two last expansion chips that still need to be added into the program; it kind of is a big deal when you look carefully at the amount of work it takes.

Well I do have good news, too. jsr told me he's about halfway done importing Sunsoft 5B into Famitracker. If you guys really want to write on N106, use MCK/MML, it's just like composing on a staff. I'm even willing to take the time to help anybody learn it if they want. I got all the free time in the world this month.

Yeah, at first I honestly expected VRC7 to be way more difficult to implement than N106, and I thought it would be the last one to be added to the lot... On second thought though, there is a lot more parameters and functions to implement in the N106 than there is in the VRC7.

These live MML classes sound like a very good idea. If Doommaster is ever unavailable, I too am fairly knowledgeable in the ways of textbased music, if anybody needs.

Yeah; if I had the time, I'm sure I'd join up on IRC & learn a thing or two on this. Or maybe, if you can get your hands on a web host, you can host your own site (with forum, live chat & the likes) & use it as an MML tutorial site.
