Yes; I know this may sound crazy, but I think that FamiTracker could gain more notoriety if its help file were compiled for multiple languages.

Most notably, our dear JSR's own mother tongue & as many languages as each of us can contribute (if possible).

I'm fully bilingual in English & French, plus I'm an HTM2CHM 3.0.9.3 user; I'd like to contribute a French help file for this project whenever possible.

I could help translating it to norwegian. Don't know anything about compiling CHM Help files(or any programming language), but I can still help translate it

No worries; a CHM file is nothing more than a container that runs HTML files from within. As long as you know how to edit HTML files, you're good to go; you could always zip them, attach the zip file here & I can compile it for you. Otherwise, you can always write your translation in any ordinary format & I can copy it into HTML format.

If you know how to edit HTML files (& translate them to any language,) check out the attached file. I extracted the HTML files from the FamiTracker 0.3.6 CHM file, so it's the most current.

The CHM's source HTML files are in the FamiTracker source zip, actually; you don't need to extract them.

It will be huge pain to keep multilingual help file updated. Even with two languages it is difficult. I think, separate help files in different langauges for different versions are better solution, as they eliminate need to maintain the main CHM file.

Sure; if you want to do the French translation, I can proofread. As long as it's done, it ultimately doesn't matter who does what.
The CHM's source HTML files are in the FamiTracker source zip, actually; you don't need to extract them.
That's cool. I've noticed that there's an hhp file & a C header file; if you have HTM2CHM, those aren't needed for compiling the help file.

Honestly, I was just starting to think that; if all the multiple languages were incorporated into one large CHM file, it would increase the size of the source & binary downloads (& this is aside from having to create a multi-language selection menu to link the different pages together).

And so, we've got French, Norwegian & Spanish. I hope that Swedish & especially Japanese (among other languages) can be implemented too (if only a friendly Japanese user could volunteer his time).

If anyone wants to contribute with new translations then that's ok with me, also suggestions on how to improve the existing help file would be appreciated as english is not my first language. I agree with Shiru that maintaining all files in the same package would probably be too much trouble, but I can make new help files available on the download page. The HTML source for the help is available in the source package.

Btw, a japanese version of the help is already available.

Awesome stuff (though I actually notice that your command of English in the help file is perfect; even better than mine, I must say).

I'll see what I can do on my end for French documentation (I'm sure that jrlepage's way ahead of me, though; only time will tell if/when this could be complete).

I've started doing stuff, but I've been busy with work and whatnot these days... But I'd still like to do this if you don't mind.
